Two Toes

Two Toes

Rio Penas Blancas, Alajuela, Costa Rica

Our safari float down the Río Peñas Blancas was already off to an exciting start after spotting a three-toed sloth earlier that morning on our way to meet the guides — and then we found this two-toed sloth, making the day even more special. We pulled up to a sandbar and got out of our rafts to watch as it climbed up and down the tree, and at one perfect moment, it glanced directly at the camera, giving me the perfect chance to capture this incredible encounter framed by the Costa Rican canopy.
