Kirkjufell

Kirkjufell, which means "Church Mountain" in Icelandic, is located on the north coast of the Snaefellsnes Peninsula and is one of the most photographed mountains in Iceland. It has a very distinctive shape and surrounding landscape.  From a nearby parking area, I was able to capture this beautiful little waterfall in the foreground of the mountain view.  If you look closely, there is a small rainbow in the photo that helps to bring some “light” to the otherwise moody feel of this image.
